Leaders Lead Luncheon featuring Col. Jon Beckenhauer
CEF First Tuesdays
Leaders Luncheon
Our Leaders Luncheon speaker for TUESDAY, November 12th, is Jon Beckenhauer! Jon is a retired Army Aviator. As a young person, he sensed his calling was to fly and and to go into the military. He started flying lessons at 15, soloed at 16, and was the youngest pilot with a Private Pilot’s license on his 17th birthday. He received his draft notice shortly after, chose to enlist, and went off to Army flight school. At the age of 19, he was flying some of the most advanced and most challenging helicopters in the Army arsenal, including the UH-1 Huey, AH-1 Cobra gunship, and the 5,000 horsepower CH-47 heavy-lift Chinook.
Jon served three combat tours in Vietnam. During that time, he logged some 3,800 hours of flight time as a co-pilot, an Aircraft Commander and the Unit Instructor and Standardization Pilot. During his three years over the skies of Vietnam, he completed over 2,000 missions and over 400 combat assaults. You certainly won’t want to miss this luncheon and hear Jon share how his faith in Christ inspired him in navigating leadership, both personally and professionally, in the past, as well as today. We look forward to seeing you! RSVP TODAY!
